A LITTLE ABOUT JIM
WHO IS JIM SMITH? I'M JIM SMITH!
He’s your neighbor, your friend, your foe, your boss, your husband, your Dad, he’s everyone. Jim Smith is the most common name in North America (technically it's "James" but most of us go by Jim). I am officially a James according to my Birth Certificate, Passport and Drivers License. Anywho, it’s the equivalent of whatever a popular name in China is, Jim Lee maybe?
Personally, I have known a teacher in Junior High who shared the name with me, that's it. Even though he had the name first, I took offense to it so I started a rumor that eventually led to his dismissal. I still laugh about it!
I have had over 70 jobs in my lifetime which is a far cry from doing it all. I hate when people say, "I've done it all!" and I when I ask the fat trucker,"Were you a stripper?" and then he gets pissed at me?! Oh hell no girl, that ain't gonna fly. Whoa, sorry, changed character there for a minute.
I have done a lot, from operating a lemonade stand when I was in Grade 3 to loan originator, Dickie Dee ice cream saleskid to Marine, Lottery ticket peddler to T-shirt peddler, I have done stand-up and been on TV, Woked for Apple and other great experiences that require an NDA. It's all coming together. Meet me at midnight on the next full moon and don't forget the bag of crows beaks and the wart of a toad!
Along with my numerous jobs, I have moved just about as many times. Living abroad has really enriched my life and I believe that travel is paramount to understanding the human condition. I consider myself very fortunate to have had the experiences and exposure that I have had, but there is always much more to learn and do.
If one could get a degree in wasting money on useless education, I would have received my Masters (with honors) from Arizona State University where I majored in Screenwriting. I was able to get on the Dean’s list a few times while I was there and wow did that not payoff at all!
