My first experience with SVDP was Easter 2010. I was there to volunteer for the dinner and had my 7 month old in a backpack. We walked around talking to families that were homeless or at risk and just sat with them and talked. My baby girl made everyone smile. The volunteers and staff do a great job and this organization reaches deep into the community. They also offer a broad range of programs in efforts to empower those experiencing hardships.

The Los Angeles Mission has been helping and empowering the homeless and at risk people since 1934. I heard they have some of the best food as far as shelters go. Regardless if you are a persoon of faith, or not, the good work this organization does can't be denied.
